Mr. Pinball Tip:

When replacing regular diodes, use 1N4007 diodes. They cost is same as lower rated diodes, but have a higher rating and you can freely substitute a higher rated diode for a lower rated one such as a 1N4001. The higher rating only means that it will take a higher voltage before it breaks down.

You can go as low as 1N4004 for most applications on a pinball machine.
