I am using a Black and Decker WorkMate 200 (R) Bench as a vice to remove
rusty stubborn leg levelers. With of course some WD-40 (TM) as
penetrating oil. The wood 'jaws' of the bench do not damage the chrome
on the legs, while holding them with enough strength to permit unlocking
the bolts with your favorite tool.
