I had a coil meltdown one day I turned the machine on, and was not aware of
the noise from a coil firing off. Since then I keep a smoke alarm inside the
cabinet, to be alerted if (when) it happens next time. I guess early solid
state machines can have periodic failure, when the components gets old.
