If your leg bolt plates are stripped, but the bolts are still good, (or
not) you can go to the hardware store and get what I call a claw nut. It
bites into the wood when it is tightened, then it stays there when the bolt
is removed. Of course, you will need to remove the old plate before doing
this, since most are made for 2 bolts. Some of the older machines have
these problems because the plates are simply stapled in place.
