When replacing PC-mounted fuse clips, put a blown fuse in place after you
mount the clips on the board, but BEFORE you solder them. That way, when
you do solder the clips in place, they're properly aligned and won't place
any stress on the fuse body. Be sure you use a blown fuse so you won't ruin
a good one. Soldering too close to a good fuse can cause it to disconnect
internally and you may not be able to tell by visual inspection that it's
bad.
