For Atari Hercules and Superman pinballs you can increase the brightness of the playfield lights by bypassing the dropping diodes on auxiliary board. I think they were put there to increase the lifetime of the bulbs but for the amount of time collector owned machines are on, brighter lights might be preferred, especially for Hercules. There are two sets of two large diodes on the right hand side of the board. If you can't find them you might have an early Aux board that didn't have them. Two diodes are used to drop the voltage by 1.4 volts. One side is attached to ground. To brighten the bulbs jumper the other side to GND. This will cause a higher voltage and therefore higher current to go out to the bulbs.
