Sarah Campbell Whitnah was born in Berkeley County, Virginia to John G. and Mary Ann Whitenah. In 1854 she married Theodrick R. Smith of Morgan County, Virginia. Theodrick and "Sally" had three children(6). Sally's first husband passed away sometime before 1866. Before or after his death, Sally moved to Fulton County, Illinois. Here, on December 25, 1866, she married Francis (Frank) Cruser, Jr(7) (the second marriage for both). Sally and Frank had three children. Sally preceded her second husband in death, at which time he remarried a third time.
