    Our first visit to Ohio was just a drive through on our marathon drive from St. Louis to Washington D.C.  On our way back home along the northern route, we stopped in Kirtland and Cleveland.

Cities & Places we visited

    KIRTLAND
    In Kirtland we visited the Kirtland Temple which is owned by the RLDS Church.  We arrived just as a tour was going into the temple so we tagged along.   That is a beautiful building!  The history of it is really something and the RLDS Church keeps it in great condition.  We did notice, however, that the spirit we felt at a lot of the other pioneer sites along the way was not the same here.  Maybe we just expected more since this used to be a House of the Lord.  Whatever the case, it was an enjoyable stop and well worth it for the historical significance.

    CLEVELAND
    Our purpose for stopping in Cleveland was to visit the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.  As had happened several times along the trip, we arrived after closing time so we just stopped long enough to get a few pictures so Laurisa could prove to her friends that she was really there!
    After a short stop, we headed for Detroit.
