(ek_3799) The USS Arizona lies in the water below the floating memorial. On December 7, 1941 the Japanese military attacked Pearl Harbor.
1777 U.S. Navy men were killed on the USS Arizona. Those men were never recovered and are buried with the ship below.
(ek_3804) On the wall is the names of the Navy men who were killed aboard the USS Arizona
(ek_3802) Some Navy men from the USS Arizona survived. When they die those few survivors can choose to have their ashes
buried in the ship below with their fellow Navy men with whom they served on the USS Arizona. 35 survivors have chosen to be buried this way.
