Slipping belts such as the Ferris Wheel belt on Hurricane can be at least
temporarily fixed by using automotive belt dressing. First clean the belt
as much as possible. Spray the dressing into a disposable container such as
a paper cup and apply using a Q-tip while belt is turning. Initially the
belt will slip much more, but once applied let it sit and dry for a few
hours. Afterward it will work nicely. Note that you do not need to remove
the belt to do this.
This repair is only a temporary measure and eventually the belt will stretch
and wear out such that nothing can save it.
