Well, Feb. 4th was to be a day of history. But, all that happened was that it snowed and we had dinnner out. Not much considering the fact that we were to welcome in grand splendor the first-shared-gene-n-chromosome-combination of Eric-n-Nikki hybrid. My parents did make it in to SLC after four days on the road......maybe God could handle only one safe arrival for our family today, who knows? (Thanks Big Guy.) Feeling much like a delivery will happen soon, but unfortunately, I have no history to rely on. My Maternity Leave has been shifted by a week, in a time structure quite foreign to me right now, as I only think in minutes, hours and half of days (at the very most).
I still have quite a bit of energy and am working until the last possible moment, but my days are filled with, "You're STILL here?" I've come to realize that Pregnant Women are public domain, from strangers touching my belly in the elevator to people asking how dilated I am. Luckily, I am not shy and give them the COMPLETE answer (hey, they asked.)
So, as I bid farewell to a day I have planned nine months for, all I can say to our little baby is, "As much as I can't wait to meet You, Our Little Stranger, I will, as the day we meet will be that much sweeter."
