What's Happening - Week of 10-28-2009
It's been a month since I've updated this stuff... so what's new???
We just bought my wife Cate a "new" car; a 2008 Subaru Forester. She needed and deserved it. She had been driving her 1993 Subaru Loyale since it was new... it's been leaking oil, rattling, and generally showing wear and tear that we can't keep up with.
Cate and I had our 4th anniversary on October 1. We planned on going on a date that Friday, but it got delayed by a week. We had a wonderful jam on October 3 to celebrate... it was a lot of fun and good energy. I am hoping for many more anniversaries with Cate... and much, much more music!
Dan Stark, Tami Nolte, Daron Shupe, and I are working to get a band off the ground. So far it's been hard to get any regular practices together due to our other commitments, but I think we've got some great songs and similar expectations. It should be a lot of fun and I think we can turn out some good music.
Along those lines, I have updated the Music page to include a "Songbook" link to a number of music files. I intend to add resources to help my friends learn some of the tunes I play or want to learn. I will be redoing the Photo Gallery... the format I've chosen is pretty restrictive. In fact this entire site will be undergoing a facelift as time permits.
We had our first significant winter storm yesterday... in fact we're actually on the tail end of it today. I've got mixed feelings; there were a lot of projects and things I didn't get done before the weather turned, but I'm going to try to get out and enjoy the snow a little more this year.
On my last update I mentioned that our friend Kate Macleod had released her new CD Blooming. I'm leaving the pitch for the CD up here (just in case someone actually reads this). The CD is outstanding and has some of the finest performers alive backing Kate up. Buy it, not just because she's a friend but because she's a kick-ass singer/songwriter and the album is great!
That's all for now, next time I'll try to regale you all with my concern with current politics.
Peace and music to all of you.
