Friday, June 17, 2005 “Rawlins, WY”

"Hi Everyone,

Well we made it to Rawlins, WY our first nights stop. We left our house about 11:15 and made it to Rawlins about 6:00PM. We stopped to see Fort Bridger. We had a picnic lunch and wandered around looking at the different buildings of the Fort. The fort was established by Jim Bridger in 1843 as an emigrant supply stop along the Oregon Trail . In 1850 it was obtained by the Mormons, and then became a military outpost in 1858."
