Cottonwood
13th Ward:
To
help get everyone in your ward registered on the Internet IGI so that
they may obtain up-to-date ordinance information, you could print off
the following instructions and give them out at R.S. and Priesthood
Meeting. You could also have some available in your FH
Center. You could give a supply to the Bishop to give out during
Temple Recommend Interviews (he could give them their confirmation date
at that time. Membership numbers are now printed on Temple
Recommends).
Instructions for registering for ordinance
information on the Internet IGI (to print off-2 sides if printed from
here----1 side if you copy and paste it into Word before printing):
Jordan North FHC:
Our Center is a little unique because of our bulletin
boards.
Information that patrons need or would like to know
about on how to
effectively use the Center is in plain sight in an informative style on
those bulletin boards. I have gotten a lot of feedback on how it
makes for a better atmosphere than Centers with just bare walls and
computers as well as being a learning and teaching tool.
Director: Dorothy Walker
(When I asked her permission, Dorothy was kind enough to let me post
the good talk that she gave at her Stake
Conference Saturday night Meeting, in case it gives you ideas for
your talks.)
Sandy
Crescent Stake:
Rick Bennett, High Councilman, has worked up a project called "Ancestral Search and Rescue", which he gives as a
demonstration on a
screen for the people in his stake. Then he devotes Thursday
nights to teaching and helping people find ancestors to take to the
Temple. He gave us a CD of his presentation and offered to let us
post it on this webpage for all of you to download. It is 5,160
kb, 52 pages (PDF). We appreciate his willingness to share his
idea and
his work. It might take 30 - 60 minutes to download if you just
have dial-up, so you might want to find someone with high-speed
connection to download it and burn a CD for you.
You may need to download the free
PowerPoint Viewer in order to view the PowerPoint Presentation

From Maryanne Berrett, Director of the Cottonwood FHC:
After searching for USB 4-ft. cords for their center (to use for the Quick/Jump/Flash Drives) and finding them for $20 every place she checked, her son located them for $4.95 each at the following website: http://www.mptools.com
She said by ordering 3 or more, there was no shipping and handling charges. She received them within a week.
PAF
Calendar:
You can print a calendar from PAF 5.2
that will automatically put in all the birthdays (plus age),
anniversary dates, etc. that you choose to list. Saves lots of
work
writing them all in. Instructions

Calendar Gift
Idea:
For a
wonderful family gift, make
the calendar with birthdays and anniversaries printed on it, print (or
paste) on heavier paper. Put photos of family, grandchildren,
etc. on
the part of the calendar that usually has a nature scene. Our
daughter-in-law makes us a photo calendar every year for
Christmas. As
you save
them from year to year, it provides a meaningful history of that year,
both in pictures, and your life as you write in your schedule and
activities and appointments on the different days. This
could be a
fun family project for Grandparents, etc. for next year-----start now!
Family Newsletter:
Events in the
extended family of Apostle Russell M. Nelson are chronicled monthly in
a
detailed and illustrated newsletter originated by Dantzel. In existence
for more than twenty years, the Nelson News provides a solid bridge to
family communications and relationships.
