Dear Friends,
It was in November 2000 that YEDA was established. Between the months of November 2001 and
November 2002 YEDA was in its initial stages, involved in fund raising activities to fund its
programs. By the end of 2002 YEDA started supplying a refugee primary school in Koboko, Uganda with school
supplies. We sent children's books, single subject notebooks, pencil sharpeners,
pencils, legal pads, three subject notebooks, packages of erasers, cases of crayons, textbooks,
and national geographic
books.
In 2003 YEDA's scholarship program for post-secondary students was on full swing, with five students
enrolled. So far, three students graduated, the other two are still attending Gulu University in Uganda.
The scholarship program and the school
supplies program were implemented through your support, especially your contributions. I
am confident that with your continued support we will be able to increase our activities and
programs. This year, we are planning to send two more students to Collages in Uganda. Your continues generous support will send up to three students to collages every year and extend our schools
supply program in Southern Sudan.
I would like to thank all of you who have supported us in reaching some of the goals set
forth. Please extend our invitation to your friends and family to join us in this effort.
Thank you.
