What does YEDA do?
YEDA provide basic education and development to Sudanese refugee in Uganda
and returnees in Southern Sudan. YEDA also help supply refugee schools with school materials.

In rare cases, YEDA annually award upto
three (3) scholarships to selected refugee students in higher institutions in Uganda. No graduate or post graduate scholarships.

Does the scholarships cover technical and trade schools?
Yes, scholarships for technical and trade schools are paid for as long
as the school is accredited and the applicant is selected to receive a scholarship.

What other information do I need to know about the scholarships?
Applications deadline is March 31st. Recipients will be announced before
July 1st. Applications must be submitted to Attn: David Bala, YEDA-Koboko, PO Box 189, Koboko, Uganga or Attn: Justin Lokolo, YEDA-Arua, C/O PO Box 1031, Arua, Uganda.
Interviews will also be conducted in Koboko or Arua after all materials are received.

What are the qualifications for the Scholarship?
You are qualified to apply for YEDA scholarship if you are:

A refugee who has not received any two or four year Collage Degree.

Reside in Uganda, Yei and Morobo Counties.

Interested in becoming a teacher or lab technician/nurse.
-
Under age 21, planning to pursue an academic program.

Can I apply to any school of my choice?
No. Currently, YEDA sponsors students who are interested in joining one of the following schools:

Kuluva School of Nursing - Arua.

Arua School of Comprehensive Nursing.
-
National Teachers College, Muni.
-
Uganda Christian University, St. Paul's Regional Study Center - Arua.

What does the scholarship cover?
The scholarship covers tuition and books. All other expenses are covered
by the student.
