Bullying & Cyberbullying Training
Arts-Kids, Inc. has developed training on how to identify the risk factors of bullying and cyberbullying and how to counsel a student who has been bullied or teased. One-on-one, empathetic, quiet conversations happen during Arts-Kids/Teens sessions while the group is absorbed with creating. Here’s an example of the kind of interaction that builds confidence and a sense of worth:
“Remember, you are not alone, lots of kids get picked on. It’s not your fault! Nobody should be bullied. Don’t bully back and do not bully anyone else, even if you’re hurting inside. Do not let the bully win. Keep doing what you love to do. It’s only hurting yourself if you let the bully matter. And do not hurt yourself. Remember, you are a good and important member of our group.”
