Wednesday, June 6, 2001 Jacob Lake, AZ to Las Vegas After a cool night, we took a walk into the woods. The girls really enjoyed the winding trail. Next stop, Las Vegas. We had considered going to Las Vegas by going around to the south side of the Grand Canyon (through Page and Flagstaff) and over. But, a quick calculation said it would be nearly 500 miles. Considering that the other way (back through Zion National Park and Saint George) would be just a bit over 200 miles, the northern route won out. Some day we will have to see the South Rim, but not today.
