October 13 1427

Monsignor Sebastian - My suspicions regarding Private Medero were confirmed with the return of the Mace of Sorrows. I have allowed Staff Sergeant Vittorio to accept funds from Lady Rahmel to pay the cost of raising their fallen comrade. Against my better judgment this man with connections to the Facci will have the opportunity to corrupt more souls. Perhaps the cost of his revival will raise the expectations of those who contributed. We shall see..

Gwynneth - It was nice to be away from the front lines if only for a few hours. I had nearly forgotten how beautiful the mountains were. It is hard to believe that in a place filled with conflict and death beauty finds a way in. I will not forget Calais' poetic spirit. It seems his reserved nature conceals a heart of gold which I'm sure is a liability in a place like this.

I paid a visit to St. Michael's cathedral with Calais to return a stolen artifact. We were visited at the wintering camp by Alf's raven. Attached to his foot was a message to return the mace the Calais found in one of Mouse's stashes. Based on the look on the Monsignor's face he was not not happy with the situation and very displeased with mouse's conduct. I hope for the sake of Trinity Company that they are able to raise him. Even though mouse is a repugnant little man he is not without his charms.

Celeste's Journal - I summoned Sergeant Vittorio to my tent. Awarding him the rank of Staff Sergeant was the official reason. It was my hope that the news regarding the Monsignor's decision to pass the cost onto his fellow soldiers would cause them to consider his real value. Saint Catherine has assured me that he is important to the cause and his untimely passing was necessary. I is my hope that Sergeant Vittorio will find a way to bring him back.

Breaching Y'ves - We awoke early to the sound of bombardment. Tubs and his mess crew were up early making the best of the ingredients available for morning chow. Soon after morning mess we fond ourselves charging up the makeshift bridge into the sundered maw of the fort. A thick cloud of black smoke burned our lungs as we entered the fortification. Sergeant Vittorio as usual lead the charge into the tower. The men found courage in his bold actions. The grimme attempted strike and retreat actions on the ground floor and up into the upper floors. Our numbers and our leadership were too much for them. They managed to raise a bit of a defense in the hallway defending the cistern and the final ramp to the roof. Our most significant losses came as a result of a cauldron of burning oil dumped on the leading elements charging to take the roof. We finally broke the back of their resistance with the courageous attack of Mr Hellebore and Sergeant Vittorio. Mouse had been fighting like a man possessed all morning, but a fluke strike from the goblins defending the rooftop silenced him in one swift stroke.

The view down from the rooftop after we planted our banner was glorious. The taking of the keep was complete and the bodies of our slain enemy were being burned in the central courtyard. I look forward to a hot meal and a warm campfire this evening.

Celeste's Journal - The men of Trinity Company have petitioned me to have one of their fallen returned to life. The men call him "Mouse", but the company roster refers to him as Medero Anso. He as been a bit of a problem for me due to his after-hours activities. I fear the morale of the men will diminish if Mouse is not raised. I fist spoke with father Daniel, but I met some opposition. I managed to secure a meeting with Bishop Portacio on short notice. His wisdom and guidance have been useful to me during my time here, but his answer was not what I had expected. He would not allow me to pay for the cost of the restoration of his life. The cost would be passed along to his men. They shall shoulder the cost of his restoration if indeed he is worthy. If the criteria is met private Anso will be required to swear an oath to the church in exchange for his revival. This is an additional burden for I will be answerable to the bishop on issues of his conduct. Any transgression will result in punishment including imprisonment up to execution. I pray for his soul and those of his friends. May Cuthbert guide them into his good graces.

Boscobel's Journal - Y'ves offered little resistance. The pounding they took during the night and into the next day sufficiently broke the will of those grimme who remained within the walls. Lady Celeste is proving to be a very capable field commander. I will miss her contributions when the 3rd Pike returns home this spring. The losses to the 3rd Pike amounted to about 8%. Regrettable, but acceptable losses. We had some unfortunate losses in the command ranks of the Royal companies. A pocket of trolls inside the main structure claimed the lives of several valuable commanders. I have petitioned Mercy group on behalf of their families to attempt to raise them. Though we have good representation from the church here the process is lengthy and expensive.

Celeste's Journal - I slept very little last night. I know the temper of our men. Moral is strong, the successful engagement at Brokenwalls has brought a sense of inevitable victory to the men. i would love to share in their optimism, but Saint Catherine's urgent callings lead me to believe we are not clear of the danger yet. I sense that there is a great evil nearby. No amount of bravado from lord Aiden can overshadow the trepidation I feel for the losses yet to come. Is there no other course of action we might take to avoid this loss of life?

I am encouraged by the leadership and strength is see in Trinity company. I have come to rely upon their strength too much I fear. I will find a way to reward them for their actions.

Calais Hellebore - The Song of Blue Max

We'll sing a song to Blue Max,
Who will stand one day in victorious in Hax.
His courage and strength
To all grimme he'll shove
But he'll never know
Lady Elsha's Love

Blue, Blue, Blue Max
Whose heart is noble true
Blue, Blue, Blue Max
Whose balls are turning blue.
