Rumors:
-No Tank Rusherers Here- If you would build like 20 tanks in C&C or RA, you would be able to crush the enemy. In C&C 2 however, this will not be possible because there are weapons like the Tesla Coil that can kill the tanks 1 by 1 (very fast). So you would have to find a way to destroy the "tank killer" first.
-Yet Another Commando Rumor- It's heard that theres a Commando called Veshain Capalt for NOD.
-Pictures- The screenshot on the back of the covert opperations box of soldiers getting off of transports and **swimming** to the shore is from Tiberian Sun. Also the screenshot of the chinock and shot from a video of an orca flying by a beach on the back of the Tiberian Dawn cd box is probably from TS.
-Transports- I heard that instead of the transports in RA, they will have hover transports like in Tiberian Dawn
-Hospitals- There will be a hospital available in Tiberian Sun. Although it previously appeared in Red Alert and C&C, they cannot be built by players. The hospital will be similar to a vehicle repair bay, except that 10 units can enter the hospital at any one time to be healed. It seems that mech-warriors can also be "healed" by going to hospital, but I'm not sure about this part.
-Satellites and Fake Structures- NOD satellites can be destroyed by the GDI Super Ion Cannon. However, NOD can send multiple satellites into space. A lot more fake structures will be available in multiplayer games! Not just construction yard. I've heard fake defensive structures are available, such as fake turrent or oblisk, to scare the enemy off.
-System Requirements- The rumor system requirements of a 200Mhz MMX cpu with 64meg RAM is false, I heard that westwood is trying to keep the system req. as low as possible. My guess is that it will require a Pentium 133MHz system with at least 16meg RAM (32recommended).
-Competition- "My source said that westwood realizes that they will have to make Tiberian Sun VERY original to maintain the title "King of RTS games" since there will be a lot of competing games like Total Annahilation, Dark Reign, 7th legion and many more... They will try this by adding things that none of the competition has ever done. Like underwater missions, weather conditions, voxel technology, etc... But, thats not all, westwood is trying to create the best AI seen in a RTS game ever! Lets hope it's better than the one of a harvester)" -ForMatPro
-Navy Seals- There will be Navy seals and they are camoflauged and they have better range than the commando
-Rotating View- It is rumored that Adam Isgreen has confirmed that there will be the ability to rotate your view of the battlefield.
-Unit Info- There will be an aircraft carrier. Second, there are THREE teams GDI, NOD, and another team of terrorist that have a storyline of there own. Third and final the infantry no longer just walk aroung they come in suits like the ones seen in the preview. Kane is ressurected by Tiberium but is messed up even worse than before.
-Upcoming Preview- December issue of PC Gamer will include a full blown preview of Tiberian Sun and that the CD will include a demo video of it. Also Blade Runner may come packaged with a demo video also. The demo video (if this is true) is thought to contain screenshots and such. Keep and eye out for it.
-Rotating View- Since C&C2: Tiberian Sun uses 3d units and maps, it is almost certain that you can rotate your view around the map. This should be handy if you want to take a look behind a tree or building...
-Underwater Mission- There might be an underwater mission, it is a rumor going around Westwood. The diver will be called Skaboo and he shoots harpoons. For info, watch the scuba divers in the last cutscene of C&C.
-Sound- I heard that the sound effects in C&C2 will be much, much better than those in C&C and Red Alert. Your probably thinking, "Isn't that obvious that it has a better quality? It is a sequel you know!" But what I mean is that there are also a lot of sounds for 1 unit because the sounds in C&C are boring after you heard them a few times... I also heard that the sound of for example a gun doesn't sound the same when you shoot someone close or far. (You'll hear an echo)
-Freaks?- There will be 3 sides in C&C2: Tiberian Sun but the third side won't be called Freaks as mentioned earlier, it was just a temporary name and might change
-Stealth Bomber- NOD will have a Stealth Bomber
-AI- Even more AI will be put into those soldiers on the battlefield. If you are playing in soldier mode, and open fire on one of your own guys or tanks, they execute you as a traitor.
-Prespectives- There will be two types of play: One in the soldier's perspective, on the ground, and one in the tactical view, like in RA
-Kane's Army- Kane's new army is actually the Soviet army brought forward in time by Kane. He went back in time in the Red Alert campaign and stole them from Salin.
-Harvester Weapons- Harvester will have some kind of weapon
-Advanced Communications Center- Adv.Comm shows the whole map
-Spies- There will be spies in Tiberian Sun, though it will be difficult to enter the base through regular tactics (as in Red Alert) you must use one of the drilling machines (used to collect credits) to burrow under there base and take over any buildings.
-Secruity- For security of your base there will be an actual radar center that will worren you of emimies attempting to take out you base. for an additional 100 credits per building you can place a seccurity system to stop spies from entering the building. If the power is offline the security system will not work.
-Sea Bases- There will be under sea war bases with subs, under sea tibe-miners and even (only for Nod) huge mecanical squid like creatures.
