UARC Meeting at 7:30pm on Thursday November 12, 2026 at the University of Utah Warnock Engineering Building room 1230 Antenna Science 101: Presented by James Behr, KK7AVS Join us for an entertaining and informative introduction to the fascinating world of antennas! Originally tasked with covering the different types of antennas, our presenter, James Bennett (KK7AVS), has apparently decided to tackle the entire subject of antenna science in a single evening. From the fundamentals of how antennas work to the principles behind their design, performance, and practical applications, James will attempt to make a surprisingly large subject approachable for newcomers and seasoned operators alike. Whether you're just getting your feet wet or have been experimenting with antennas for years, you're bound to come away with something useful—or at least a few more questions worth exploring. No advanced mathematics required. Curiosity is highly encouraged. UARC Christmas Dinner at 6:30pm on Thursday December 10, 2026 at the Golden Corral restaurant at 665 E 7200 S in Midvale (Dutch treat -- each person pays for their own) Regular UARC meetings are normally held on the second Thursday of each month (except July and August). Regular meetings start at 7:30 pm and are available on UARC's YouTube Channel, live and for later playback. Welcome to the Utah Amateur Radio Club's website. Our club is the oldest amateur radio club in the state of Utah. It holds the call W7SP, a memorial call for Leonard "Zim" Zimmerman, early UARC member and radio pioneer. It also publishes a monthly newsletter called Microvolt, electronic versions of which can be found HERE.
