Noji Ratzlaff KNØJI will once again don his lab coat, but
this time explain Crystal Oscillators and the Piezoelectric Effect. And
if that wasn't exciting enough, their relevance to tanks, fluorescent
lightning, tuning forks, and yes, ham radio. He plans to demonstrate
before our very eyes how we can generate electricity from everyday
stress.
This may be the last UARC meeting on the University of Utah campus. It will be in the Warnock Engineering Building, as before. Here is a map and directions. Meeting starts at 7:30 pm and should be available on UARC's YouTube Channel, live and for later playback. As announced in the May 2026 issue of the Microvolt newsletter, UARC meetings will be moving to the Salt Lake County Facilities Management cafeteria at 2001 S. State Street room S1-100, starting with the meeting on June 11th, 2026. |
Welcome to the Utah Amateur Radio Club's website. Our club is the oldest amateur radio club in the state of Utah. It holds the call W7SP, a memorial call for Leonard "Zim" Zimmerman, early UARC member and radio pioneer. It also publishes a monthly newsletter called Microvolt, electronic versions of which can be found HERE.
