Noji Ratzlaff KNØJI will once again don his lab coat, but
this time explain Crystal Oscillators and the Piezoelectric Effect. And
if that wasn't exciting enough, their relevance to tanks, fluorescent
lightning, tuning forks, and yes, ham radio. He plans to demonstrate
before our very eyes how we can generate electricity from everyday
stress.
Regular UARC meetings are normally held on the second Thursday of each month except July and August at 7:30 pm UARC meeting place is on the University of Utah campus in the Warnock Engineering Building. (In the foyer of this building is a sign for the "John and Marcia Price College of Engineering" so don't let that confuse you.) Here is a map and directions. Meeting starts at 7:30 pm and will be available on UARC's YouTube Channel, live and for later playback. |
Welcome to the Utah Amateur Radio Club's web site. Our club is the oldest amateur radio club in the state of Utah. It holds the call W7SP, a memorial call for Leonard "Zim" Zimmerman, early UARC member and radio pioneer. It also publishes a monthly newsletter called Microvolt, electronic versions of which can be found HERE.
