This solid-state color TV camera uses a CCD (Charge Coupled Device) solid-state imaging device, as an image pick-up device instead of the pick-up tube generally used.

Compared with other TV cameras, which use a conventional pick-up tube, this camera has a higher sensitivity and lower afterimage. This results in freedom from graphical distortion and sticking and a highly uniform, high quality image. The solid-state interline transfer CCD and a signal read-out register, utilizing a buried channel CCD, provide reduced resolution degradation because of the high transfer efficiency.

The camera is light and compact, with shock and vibration resistance superior to tubes. It is ideal for a wide range of applications in industry, education, and many other fields.
