My newest photographs from South America are from my two weeks trip to Ecuadorian Andes. This year, my husband and I visited Ecuador. We spent 2 weeks in this beautiful part of the world. Our goal was to climb some volcanic mountains in Ecuador. We had 5 mountains to hike/climb in our plan. All were volcanic, last two covered by big glacier. We fell in love with the county and local people.
Luckily, weather was cooperating for most of the time. Every morning was clear and in the afternoon we got showers. That kept the lanscape green and lash. We were able to reach all summits except the last one, Chimborazo, the highest mountain in Ecuador (6,310m) The weather drastically changed for the last climb and the mountain was impossible to see and to reach. That gives us a reason to return, we thought. Our highest mountain in Ecuador that we summited was Cayambe (5,790m). This volcano covered by glaciar was spectacular but also challenging due to high number of cravasis. Standing on the summit was inforgattable!
I made several photographs duting the trip even though the opportunities were limited. It was on of the best out South American climbing trips, for sute worth returning.
Enjoy my photographs and thank you for visiting my website.
