This section is from Arctic Alaska, winter, February 2013.
My new photographs from Arctic Alaska: My husband and I visited in February of 2013, Brooks Range - the most northern mountains in arctic part of Alaska. We experienced diverse weather conditions, beautiful fresh snow and low arctic sun that created great conditions for photography, all day long. We had almost 6 hours of day light each day and temperatures were on average -10F (-23C). The lowest temperature we have experienced was -37F (-38C). It was great, we loved it.
It was my first time seeing the northern lights and I was amazed by the phenomena. It was an emotional show that touched my soul, in some way. We did not have clear skies and for that reason, the aurora was moving between the coulds creating difficult conditions for photography. I am not happy with my results and did not found it easy to photograph. However, I am motivated to return and give another try to create better photographs.
Brooks Range was amazing; we want to return next winter and tour the mountains on skis. It was my third time visiting Alaska in last two years and I am getting more attached to it each time. I believe that winter is the most magic season in that part of the world. It is very unique and worth exploring more and more... it is an unforgattable wilderness that changes lives.
Hope you will enjoy my photographs from Arctic Alaska.
